The process of making this typeface started by creating pictograms of selected images of camera lens components. I turned those images into glyphs, using the computer but also calligraphic techniques. Following the scheme image-pictogram-glyph, I refined those shapes into abstract letterforms. The resulting book documents the process, but also explores the creative application of the letterforms combined with original film photography. Final format: A4 publicaion, stitch binding, 64 pages; original pictures; book cover screen printed with silver ink on black paper. www.pierozagami.com
